Boston Atlas is first published.

A Whig paper and fiercely anti-Democratic, its first publisher is John Eastburn and first editor Richard Houghton. The daily newspaper merges with the Daily Bee on May 17, in 1858 and with the Boston Traveller on June 24, 1861.
